The sales numbers have just came in for Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver., and they are not looking good.
According to Media Create, the game sold just 84,277 physical copies during its first 3 days in Japan. Capcom was expecting the title to sell at least 300,000 to 500,000 copies.
With the game not even breaking the 100,000 copy mark, there’s may not be much room for it to grow in the long term. It’s certainly disappointing, but not unexpected given that Monster Hunter XX originally launched 5 months ago on Nintendo 3DS. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the future.
On the hardware side of things, the Nintendo Switch is back on the top of the hardware sales chart, with 69,654 units sold. It’s still pretty hard to get one though, and Japanese gamers are really frustrated.
