Japan: Nintendo Switch Moved 33,000 Units Last Week

Media Create has released their video game sales estimates for the Japanese market from May 14, 2018 to May 20.

Last week has been a pretty quiet week in terms of new releases. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which launched 3 weeks ago on Nintendo Switch, sold 15,452 copies. Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Kirby Star Allies moved 12,646 units (No. 3), 10,071 pieces (No. 5), and 8,392 copies (No. 6) respectively.

On the hardware side of things, Nintendo Switch continues to be the top seller in the Japanese market, having sold 33,125 units last week (an improvement of 2000 consoles from the week before). That’s 56.4% of all hardware sales in Japan.
