As reported previously, The Pokemon Company has been installing various manhole covers with special Pokemon themes across Japan as part of a larger initiative to boost tourism across the country. Well, now fans of the Fish Pokemon Magikarp can mark down some new locations to visit within Japan!
Japan’s Niigata prefecture has revealed the installation of 4 new manhole covers with special Magikarp designs within Ojiya City. The choice of Magikarp in these designs is apparently due to Ojiya City’s world-famous reputation for cultivating Koi fish.
As you can see below (click to enlarge), the covers feature Magikarp floundering around as usual. There are even guest appearances by Pidgeotto, Feebas, and Shiny Magikarp!
