Paramount has released some new information about their upcoming live-action series featuring Knuckles The Echidna from their Sonic The Hedgehog movies.
As reported by Variety, the show will take place after the events of the second movie and before the events of the upcoming third movie. In the show, Knuckles will agree to train Wade Whipple, the bumbling Green Hills police officer from the films, as his protege to teach him “the ways of the Echidna Warrior”. Production on the series is now underway, and it will debut on Paramount+, the media giant’s streaming platform.
Aside from this plot logline, the cast of the show was also revealed. Idris Elba and Adam Pally will be reprising their roles as Knuckles and Wade respectively. Other recurring cast members include Edi Patterson (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Julian Barratt (“Mindhorn”), Scott Mescudi (“Don’t Look Up”), and Ellie Taylor (“Ted Lasso”). Rory McCann (“Game of Thrones”) will guest star, along with Tika Sumpter as Maddie from the films.
Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
