Although Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is dominating on Switch, it seems that its predecessors still have some fight left in them.
According to the Nintendo’s latest financial briefing, total sales for Mario Kart Wii have increased from 37.10 million to 37.20 million as of March 2019. This means that the game sold over 100,000 copies last year, an surprising feat given that the Wii has been out of the spotlight for almost six years.
Interestingly, Mario Kart 8 for WiiU also managed to move some units during that time, around 20,000 copies according to estimates. We’ll let you be the judge for what this says about the WiiU given that Mario Kart on Wii sold around 5 times that number in the same timeframe.
