Wondering how Nintendo has allocated the Nintendo Switch 2 to retailers around the world? Let’s find out.
As you may be aware, the Nintendo Switch 2 is offered in two configurations – the standalone console, and the Mario Kart World set, which includes a copy of Mario Kart World at a discounted price.
This week, a report from France suggested that the Mario Kart World set makes up 73% of the launch shipment, and we’ve started to hear similar numbers from other markets as well.
A Vandal podcast suggested that the Mario Kart World set will make up 80% of the launch shipment in Spain. Similar numbers in the 70% to 80% range could be expected across markets in Europe.
NintendoSoup is also able to confirm that after retailers in Hong Kong and Taiwan received their allocations this week, the Mario Kart World set will make up about 80% to 85% of each retailer’s launch shipment in these markets.
We’ve also observed that pre-orders for the standalone console have been selling out at select retailers in some markets across Europe, Australia, and Asia, while the Mario Kart World set remains readily available at the time of writing.
Based on these numbers, Nintendo is aware that demand is high for the Mario Kart World set as it’s the cheapest way to get a copy of the game with the console, and they intend to meet that demand. Those looking for the set shouldn’t need to worry about getting their hands o one.
