Samus Aran fans could soon see a rare manga gem return to the modern world, thanks to its passionate creator.
Back in 2004, Comic BomBom ran the manga Metroid EX: Samus & Joey – a sequel to the original Samus & Joey manga. The 12-chapter story followed Samus, as she journeyed with original character Joey Apronika to retrieve her lost Power Armor upgrades.
Unfortunately, BomBom folded in the proceeding years – and the manga never saw a tankobon (volume) release. Now, its creator Kouji Izuki is gathering votes to publish the title through Fukkan – a re-printing company. It’s not clear if Nintendo will be involved, however.
Currently, the manga has 165 votes and counting – which is higher than previous re-publications handled by Fukkan. If you want to support the comic’s revival, you can sign up for the website over here – and then vote over here.
