Mojang has announced the launch date of the next major update coming to Minecraft.
“The Wild” update is scheduled to launch on June 7th 2022, bringing with it two new biomes, new materials, and new mobs, including the winner of the 2021 mob vote The Allay. You can read the full details of the update here, or check out a short summary of the key additions below:
- Two brand new biomes – the deep dark and the mangrove swamp
- The Shrieker is the only mob that dwells in the deep dark
- Collect sculk blocks in the deep dark
- Mangrove trees, and a new type of wood.
- Mangrove swamp also has the mud block, which can be crafted with dirt and water
- Chests can be added to boats
- The Warden mob will be added
- The Frog mob will be added, which creates a froglight block if it attacks magma cubes
- There are three Frog types
- The Frog also has its baby version, the tadpole, making it the only mob that has a different baby version
- The Allay mob will be added.
