Today, Game Informer revealed a very interesting tidbit about the development of Cadence of Hyrule, the crossover between Crypt of the Necrodancer and The Legend of Zelda.
As you know, Brace Yourself was the studio that asked Nintendo for permission to use The Legend of Zelda as DLC in Crypt of the Necrodancer. Now it turns out that Miyamoto and Aonuma may have played a huge role in turning this into a full fledged game.
According to Game Informer, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma were addicted to Crypt of the Necrodancer on Nintendo Switch. They enjoyed it so much that they consider themselves fans of this rhythm action game. After playing it, the two wanted to find out who made Crypt of the Necrodancer.
This shows that Nintendo was also very attracted to the idea of a crossover between the two IP, and that is what we have today.
