It looks like Momotaro Dentetsu fans will soon be able to enjoy the latest game in the series in a new way!
Takara Tomy has announced a new board game based on Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban! – which will launch for Japan in October 2021. The package will include a map board, six differently-colored player pieces, three dice, gameplay cards, sheets of in-game money, and a special roulette device that also acts as a turn counter with adjustable year and month markers.
Players will have to option of simulating the gameplay of the popular Switch title, including encounters against the God of Poverty. However, the board game will also let players enjoy other modes such as a simple race from the start to the finish of the board.
To date, the Switch release of Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban! has sold over 3 million copies in Japan alone. Only time will tell if this tabletop version of the game will fare just as well.
