Nintendo has announced they are adding Mother 3 to the Switch Online games catalogue in Japan.
Originally released for the Game Boy Advance back in 2006, Mother 3 is the third game in the Mother series, better known as Earthbound in the west. Despite its status as a cult-classic and the appearance of its main character Lucas in Super Smash Bros., the game has never received an official release outside of Japan.
This unfortunate trend appears to be continuing with this announcement, as Mother 3 will only be available on the Japanese Switch Online catalogue, with other regions receiving a different set of games.
