Although its only been a few hours since Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns launched on Switch, it seems some players have already begun encountering a gamebreaking bug in the title’s early levels.
Specifically the bug appears to cause early game enemy encounters to have much larger hitpoints than they should have for that stage of the game. For example, one Reddit user reported entering the encounter with a Level 5 character (64hp) and was met with a Skeleton that had 1,500 HP.
Other posters on Reddit, along with a few users on Twitter reported similar problems.
Since players cannot reasonably be expected to defeat an enemy with such high hitpoints that early, and beating the encounter is required to progress, the bug effectively makes the game unplayable. While not everyone seems to be facing this issue, its a big problem for players who are. Hopefully the developers will investigate the issue soon.
