In the past, many physical Nintendo Switch games have required an internet connection download from Doom to Mega Man Legacy Collection and even Final Fantasy!
However those games ever only needed one download, however this game now holds the record for the most game downloads required for a physical Nintendo Switch game!
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM Trilogy in Australia (releasing March 15th 2019) is purchasable as a physical copy from EB Games. But the physical case appears to just be a box that comes with 3 download codes (1 for each game)!
Check it out below:
The games download size appears to be 18GB too which means it just wasn’t able to fit on a 16GB Game Card which is likely why the game was chosen to be digital codes only.
But in Japan, the games are all on the cartridge which means Bandai Namaco could have gotten these games on the cartridge rather than a download!
