During Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, the company revealed some updated sales figures for its long-running amiibo figure line.
As of September 2022, the company reports that it has shipped a cumulative total of 77 million amiibo figures across the globe. This statistic includes every release ever since amiibo figures first made their debut in 2014, with Super Smash Bros. characters.
While much of the hype around amiibo figures has died down since their heyday 8 years ago, Nintendo seems to have had some decent success with the toys-to-life NFC figure craze at least. Most recently, the company confirmed that amiibo figures for Sephiroth and Kazuya (based on their appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) are currently in the works.
We’ll report back when we hear more amiibo news in the future. Stay tuned.
