Nintendo Memo Instructs Customer Service to Fix ‘Joy-Con Drift’ for Free
A report from Vice has claimed that Nintendo is taking action in response to complaints of Joy-Con drift.
Just last week we saw news of a law suit being filed against Nintendo for the Joy-Con drift issue and the unaffected statement released by Nintendo about customer support for repairing these remotes.
In a memo provided to VICE Games by a source familiar with Nintendo’s updated customer support documentation, we saw the following statement.
“Customers will no longer be requested to provide proof of purchase for Joy-Con repairs,” the internal customer service details say. “Additionally it is not necessary to confirm warranty status. If a customer requests a refund for a previously paid Joy-Con repair […] confirm the prior repair and then issue a refund.”
This seems to be a way of addressing the issue without directly acknowledging that the Joy-Cons have issues.
