Nintendo Replaces Faulty 3DS Battery And Motherboard For Just 61 Cents

Awhile ago, Twitter user @kaboo_factory, who lives in Japan, sent in his Nintendo 3DS system to Nintendo for repair.

The reason why @kaboo_factory had to get his 3DS repaired was because the system couldn’t be turned on. The Nintendo repair center found the root cause of the problem – the system’s battery had expanded.

However, @kazoo_factory got more than what he bargained for. Not only was the battery replaced – Nintendo changed the system’s motherboard, Circle Pad, and buttons which had worn down.

To @kaboo_factory’s amazement, all of the components replaced just cost 71 yen (USD0.61). Under normal circumstances, he would have to foot 8100 yen (USD76) to replace the motherboard and 2571 yen (USD24) to replace the console’s charging port. He has essentially received a brand new Nintendo 3DS for 71 yen!
