Earlier this year, Nintendo announced Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a brand new installment in its long-running line of sports simulation games.
Similar to previous installments, the game features Miis as customizable player avatars. However, it appears that they have been given a new body design to better match the proportions of the non-Mii player avatars. Appearing in a Japanese gaming magazine, this new Mii body shape sports a more elongated torso and limbs, coming across as a bit uncanny for players used to the stockier proportions Miis had in other games.
Presumably, this was done to make things easier on the developers for animations and other gameplay, and it would be fun to see how the Miis move in their new form when the game releases on October 22nd 2026 for Switch 2.
