Nintendo UK Replaces 4-Year-Old’s 2DS XL, Sends Special Note From Mario

Nintendo has always been known as a family-friendly company and often times you can see examples of this popping out in various anecdotes.

One such incident happened recently and was shared by Redditor ItsJustGizmo. According to his Reddit thread, ItsJustGizmo called up Nintendo UK to see if they can help him convince his 4-year-old son that his 2DS XL was being repaired at Mario’s house after a speaker failure. Nintendo agreed and when the 2DS was returned from the repairs, Nintendo dropped in a little card as well to surprise the little boy.

So my 4 year old son is Mario obsessed, and was so upset the speakers on his console failed. I sent it off for repair and gave Nintendo UK a call. It was a bold move, but I explained how enamored he is with Mario, he actually thought it was at Mario’s house getting fixed, with Toad and Bowser helping. I asked if it was possible to include a little handwritten note pretending it was from Mario or something.

After receiving a new replacement, we got a card! Here’s what it said inside!

“Dear Lucas

Sorry your console went kaput! >_<

But have no fear! Super Mario has fixed it using some STAR POWER!!! *

I hope you enjoy your repairs console and wish you many more happy adventures…

-with yours truly!!!

Your pal Mario

It is really heartwarming to see Nintendo go such lengths to promote their family-friendly image. Let’s hope little Lucas enjoys his now repaired 2DS XL.
