Today we have a big piece of news to share with those of you waiting for the opening of Pokemon Center Singapore, the first Pokemon Center location to open outside Japan.
As you know there hasn’t been much news about Pokemon Center Singapore. Thanks to NintendoSoup reader Marcus we have received information on how the interior looks like, so today we’re talking about the statues that appear in Pokemon Center Singapore.
Unfortunately we are unable to share photos from the Pokemon Center itself, so you will have to look at these mockups we made.
First and foremost is a giant Lapras and Pikachu statue, with Pikachu sitting on top of Lapras. This shouldn’t be a surprise as we have previously talked about it earlier this year. The statue is found at the entrance of the store, close to the shelves on the right.
Now here come the surprises. There is a giant Gyarados statue at the left corner of the store, close to the display cases and the place where you can pick up your shopping baskets from. What makes this Gyarados so special is the fact that it’s curled up like a Merlion (Singapore’s national icon of a lion with a mermaid tail) spurting water out of its mouth:
For comparison’s sake, here is the real Merlion statue:
Last but not least is Celebi, the Mythical Grass-type Pokemon. You can find a small statue of Celebi affixed to a wall decorated with fake grass and wood close to the cash registers.
