Universal Pictures and Nintendo Studios have submitted a copyright document for an “Untitled Donkey Kong Motion Picture” to the US Copyright office.
This indicates that both Universal Pictures and Nintendo Studios are working on a Donkey Kong movie. It seems that the contract for the project was signed on May 9 and May 27, 2025, so we’ll probably learn more about the project far into the future.
At the time of writing, Nintendo, Universal, and Illumination have worked together for Super Mario Bros. The Movie and its sequel, and Nintendo is working with Sony Pictures for the very first movie featuring The Legend of Zelda.
