Pokemon Earns $2.5 Billion On Mobile To Date

Its not just Pokemon’s console games that rake in the cash.

According to a report by market analyst Sensor Tower, mobile players have spent close to $2.5 billion across all of Pokemon’s various mobile games. Furthermore, they also reportedly achieved 640 million downloads in total. However, sources note that this does not include Android data from China.

Predictably, Pokemon GO makes up the bulk of the earnings, contributing around $2.45 billion or about 98% of the total figure. The rest of Pokemon’s mobile games such as Pokemon Shuffle, Pokemon Duel, and Pokemon Quest contribute to the remaining earnings. A more detailed breakdown is presented below:

– Pokémon games on mobile have made about $2.5 billion worldwide
– total game downloads sit at 640 million
– these numbers do not include Android revenues in China
– Pokemon GO has earned 98 percent of that revenue, or about $2.45 billion
– Pokémon Shuffle has pulled in $25 million
– Pokémon Duel, Pokémon Quest, Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, and Pokémon TCG Online make up the rest of the revenue
– Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon TCG Online are the only two Pokémon mobile games available in China
– the U.S. accounted for 35 percent ($875 million) of revenue, while Japan is next with 29 percent ($725 million)
– Pokémon Go makes up the majority of those 640 million downloads, accounting for 86 percent of them (550 million)
