Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream has published the results of their latest “Most Wanted” poll, which documents their readers’ most anticipated upcoming games.
As shared by Japanesenintendo, Nintendo Dream readers’ number one most anticipated game for this month is Pokemon Sword And Shield with a whopping 40.6% of the overall vote. Notably, this is apparently the seventh month in a row that Pokemon Sword And Shield has had the number one spot. In second place was Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 26.8% of the vote, with Dragon Quest XI S coming in third with 19.9%.
Check out the top 15 below:
- Pokémon Sword/Shield (Switch) – 40.6%
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch) – 26.8%
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (Switch) – 19.9%
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (Switch) – 16.5%
- Luigi Mansion 3 (Switch) – 13.4%
- Rune Factory 5 (Switch) – 11.1%
- Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch) – 9.2%
- Hatsune Miku Project DIVA MEGA39’s – 7.7%
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 (Switch) – 7.3%
- Story of Seasons Series New Work – 5.4%
- TRIALS of MANA (Switch) – 3.6%
- SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays (Switch) – 3.4%
- Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout (Switch) – 3.1%
- Shin Megami Tensei V (Switch) – 3.0%
- Bayonetta 3 (Switch) – 2.8%
In contrast to the unbroken streak held in Nintendo Dream, Pokemon Sword And Shield‘s performance in other “Most Wanted” polls is slightly more mixed. For example, fellow publication Famitsu’s Most Wanted poll has had the number one spot bouncing between Pokemon and Dragon Quest XI S by extremely tight margins over the past few weeks:
This Week
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (Switch) – 691
- Pokémon Sword/Shield (Switch) – 660
Last Week
- Pokémon Sword/Shield (Switch) – 643
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (Switch) – 612
Two Weeks Ago
- Pokémon Sword/Shield (Switch) – 712
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (Switch) – 693
With its biggest rival Dragon Quest XI S now out of the running, we can probably expect Pokemon Sword And Shield to start dominating the most wanted polls in Famitsu as well. Overall, it seems that despite some of the criticisms that have been lobbied at the games, most people are still quite excited for Pokemon Sword And Shield, at least in Japan.
