Today we have some interesting news about the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield.
In the good old days, Pokemon Red and Blue were displayed in only Hiragana and Katakana in Japanese. This later changed in the modern Pokemon games we know today to a mix of Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.
Now we have learned that Pokemon Sword and Shield will allow Japanese players to play in two different Japanese text options – Hiragana (Hiragana and Katakana only) or Kanji (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji).
Thanks, Brandon.
