All pre-orders for Monster Hunter Stories on Amazon US will receive a special “Rider Set” DLC. The DLC comes with 4 special monsters equipped with special genes.

From August 24, 2017 through September 8, 2017, pre-order Monster Hunter Stories game at Amazon and receive exclusively at Amazon a code to download the “Rider Set” which comprises of 4 different monsters, upon purchase of the game. Download instructions:
1. From the HOME Menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.
2. Select “Menu,” then select “Redeem Download Code.”
3. Tap the box that says, “Enter a download code.”
4. Use the touchscreen to enter the download code and tap “OK.” Please note that players will have to progress past a certain point in the game to be able to use these monsters in-game. DL code can only be redeemed once in the full game, upon purchase.

Comments on the product page are claiming that Amazon customer service is staying that there is no pre-order bonus. I myself have not received the code in spite of qualifying for the promotion.
What a strange situation. Looks like mention about the DLC has vanished from the product page too. We'll look into this!
Update, later that evening, Amazon did send me an email to expect the code within the next 8 to 12 hours, and then 40 minutes later they sent it to me. :)
