Nintendo has issued an important notice regarding the closure of the Wii U and 3DS eshop.
As detailed on Twitter, after the Wii U and 3DS eshops close their doors on March 27th 2023, players who have any unused eshop balance will be able to merge this with a Nintendo Account. This feature will be available up until March 2024, and will allow the leftover balance to be used at the Switch eshop.
As a reminder, after March 27th 2023, players will no longer be able to make any new purchases on the Wii U and 3DS eshop, and will only be able to redownload previously purchased games and DLC. Since any leftover funds would be unusable otherwise, its probably a good idea to transfer them over to a Nintendo Account while it still possible.
