Nintendo Labo stirred up a lot of conversations with both fans and general gamers around. Especially with the Robot Toy-Cons, many wondered if this is Nintendo’s approach to VR.
Speaking to Toronto Sun, President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, clarified that Nintendo Labo is not Nintendo’s answer to VR and is just Nintendo’s new way to play.
“It’s not meant to be some sort of competitive answer (to virtual reality),” said Fils-Aime. “It’s meant to be something totally unique, totally unexpected.”
So that should answer the question for now. Nintendo France has previously expressed their apathy to VR and 4K in general. However, we do know that Nintendo is exploring VR possibilities and is just not ready to commit to anything.
