Liam Robertson, a veteran industry insider who uncovers video games that never see the day of light, has reported an interesting rumor today.
Sources close to Nintendo of Europe, who have previously provided accurate information on Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, have told Robertson that a port for Wii U platformer New Super Mario Bros. U is in the works for Nintendo Switch.
One of the potential names for the port is New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, a throwback to Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was an updated port of the original Super Mario Bros. game for Game Boy Color.
The game will reportedly come with all the content included in New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and bonus content for the Switch release. It’s currently unclear what the bonus content is, and neither do we have a potential launch window for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
