A new rumor has surfaced about a potential new model for the Switch 2.
This rumor comes from tech site ZDNet Korea, which claims to have head from multiple insiders that Nintendo is considering an OLED model for the Switch 2 with an enhanced 1920×1080 resolution screen. More specifically, the outlet claims that Samsung is making preparations to support Nintendo for this new device.
However, the article also says that nothing has been finalized so far. Nintendo is still reportedly weighing the potential costs and benefits for the OLED revision, as the company was hoping to keep manufacturing costs low amidst the ongoing component shortages. If they go through with it, production could begin as early as the end of this year for a late 2027 to early 2028 launch.
As with all reports of this nature, we caution readers to take this with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
