Way back in 2019, it was announced that a Super Nintendo World would be opening at Universal Studios Singapore, promising to bring the definitive Nintendo theme park experience to Southeast Asia.
Now, after nearly a decade, we finally have a fresh update about the status of this project. The Singapore government recently released its Greater Sentosa Master Plan, an initiative aimed at revitalizing the resort island where Universal Studios Singapore is located. Buried in a small paragraph is a mention of Super Nintendo World, potentially implying that it could be scheduled for completion by 2030.
Guests can also look forward to discovering more upcoming experiences at Resorts World Sentosa. These include the landmark Waterfront Lifestyle Development, scheduled for completion in 2030; and immersive SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Singapore.
Given that Nintendo themselves has been taking steps to expand their presence in Singapore, it seems a bit more likely that the promise of Super Nintendo World Singapore will be fulfilled at long last. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
