Chinese social media is buzzing around what could possibly point to the existence of a Nintendo Switch 2 OLED model.
This week, several product listings for what’s claimed to be “Nintendo Switch 2 OLED model’s console body frame prototype” appeared on Chinese flea market websites. The description of these listings state that the parts were manufactured as samples for research and development purposes.
Photos of the prototype can be found below:
While it isn’t possible to determine whether these parts are for an OLED model from the photos provided, one thing that stands out is the console body’s white frame, which doesn’t exist in any actual Nintendo Switch 2 product at the time of writing. This implies that Nintendo could opt for a white color scheme for the Nintendo Switch 2 OLED model, similar to their strategy for the Nintendo Switch OLED model.
Prior to the official announcement of Nintendo Switch 2, various components, including the motherboard, Joy-Con 2, and console body, were leaked in China, so it’s possible that what we’re seeing are authentic parts disposed or stolen from the production line.
