Zippo, the leaker who hinted at the development of a new 2D Mario game which we now know is Super Mario Bros. Wonder, has spilled a few more details about the upcoming 2D platformer launching this October.
Please keep in mind that this information isn’t officially announced by Nintendo, so treat it with a pinch of salt.
In his recent blog post, Zippo claimed that although Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a game that could be played by anyone, the difficulty level has ramped up, with game testers finding it challenging. Internally, Nintendo has even called the game “the next Super Mario Bros. 3.” This is a move expected to be welcomed by players seeking a challenge.
The reason behind this is because the game’s difficulty, controls, and physics in Super Mario Bros. Wonder are similar to that of Super Mario Bros. 3. Similar to Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario and friends will have to travel to various parts of the Flower Kingdom to save their rulers. Tanuki Mario, Ice Mario, and Mini Mario are a few of the power-ups that are expected to return to the game.
