For the past few months, rumors have been circulating that Nintendo is preparing to launch a successor to the Nintendo Switch, possibly as early as this year.
Now, the latest round of rumors suggests that fans will unfortunately have to wait a little bit longer than that. According to Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, multiple sources familiar with the matter are now claiming that Nintendo has pushed the console’s launch to Q1 2025.
His statements were reportedly corroborated by separate sources speaking to VGC and Eurogamer, whose sources claim that Nintendo has been informing third-party publishers about the delay. These sources also speculate that the delay is to allow Nintendo to prepare a stronger launch title lineup for the console, while still allowing them to launch within the current fiscal year.
The Switch successor’s official reveal was previously rumored to happen in March 2024, and it is not known if this has also changed internally to accommodate for the new launch window. That said, we caution readers to take all of this information with a grain of salt. We will be sure to report back with more updates as they come.
