Sonic Creator Yuji Naka Has Watched Detective Pikachu, Hopes The Sonic Movie Will Be Just As Enjoyable

With the Detective Pikachu movie showing in Japan, gaming fans now have a better standard for videogame film adaptations. Thus far, the movie seems to be getting vastly positive reviews from early screenings, and now it looks like Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka is joining those voices.

Naka-san recently tweeted out that he has finally seen the Pokemon film with his family, and reported enjoying what they watched. In turn, Naka-san also expressed his hope that November’s Sonic the Hedgehog movie would be just as fun to watch – despite all the negative press surrounding it for now.

With director Jeff Fowler promising changes to Sonic’s CGI design, we can only hope that Yuji Naka’s hopes will ring true in the future. We’ll report back more on both movies when we hear more.
