It looks like Soulja Boy has taken his flagrant copying of Nintendo’s IP to the next level.
The rapper recently released a new single named “Zelda” – which egregiously samples The Legend Of Zelda main theme. If the title wasn’t enough of a hint, Soulja Boy even chants “green diamonds like Zelda” throughout the track – an obvious allusion to rupees from the videogame series.
You can check it out below (warning: crude language).
At this point, it’s hard to deny that Soulja Boy is doing this on purpose just to spite Nintendo. After all, legal brushes with Nintendo likely forced the rapper to shut down his questionable business of selling ‘Soulja Boy’ knock-off consoles with illegal game ROMs on them.
Still, it will be interesting to see if and how Nintendo deals with the rapper’s new song. We’ll be waiting to report back if anything develops.
