Nintendo has announced a price increase for the Switch Online service in Latin America.
According to reports from users, Nintendo has sent out notifications to fans living in the affected regions informing them of the planned price hike. The increased prices will go into effect on March 1st 2025, and is confirmed to affect Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru so far. The price increase reportedly varies between regions, with Brazil reporting a 25% increase. Fans are being given until February 28th 2025 to buy or renew their memberships at the current price.
At the time of this writing, Nintendo has not given an explicit reason for the price hike, although its reportedly the second price hike the region is receiving in 5 years. Many fans are concerned that other regions may eventually receive a price increase for the service as well, especially with the Switch 2 on the horizon.
