It seems difficulty playing online with friends is not the only difference between the Switch version of Team Sonic Racing and the version on other platforms.
Shortly after Team Sonic Racing launched worldwide, fans noticed that the Switch version seemed to be missing the game’s opening movie. On other versions of the game, a cool cinematic would play if it was left alone for a while on the main menu. However, this movie never plays for the Switch version of the game.

So why is this movie missing from the Switch version of Team Sonic Racing? One theory is that it was done to save space on the cartridge and reduce costs, and that the movie would be added in later via a patch. This theory would also explain a similar situation with Mario Tennis Aces, which suddenly received a new opening cutscene well after its initial launch.
