In the last few weeks, we learned that Tencent modified the design of the POW block in the official Chinese release for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Now we have found the reason why.
Due to a new Chinese regulation that forbids English alphabets and roman numbers from names and items in video games, the word “POW” had to be stripped off from the POW block. This regulation also affected the names of three Pokemon last month.
