Bid Toys, a toy company known for making a myriad of pop-culture mash-up projects and just straight up unusual figurines, has just done the unbelievable with Nintendo’s most iconic characters.
Mario and his nemesis Bowser have been reimagined as characters from the insanely popular tokusatsu ‘Ultra’ series. Yes, we’re talking about that Ultraman, the kaiju fighting Giant of Light we’ve all known from our childhood. In this unusual project, Mario has become “MA-NULTRA”, while Bowser is transformed into the kaiju “KOOBALA” (a reference to his Japanese name, King Koopa). And as you can see below, it somehow just works.
The question is, will we be able to get our hands on these figurines or will they forever just be a figment of our wildest imagination? Surprisingly, the company does release their products on their company blog here, albeit in limited quantities. So if you’re itching to get your hands on one of the craziest unofficial crossovers to have ever manifested, you might want to keep your eyes peeled!
