Although Nintendo has not specifically announced anything yet, the latest Nintendo Switch firmware update (version 4.0.0) has added support for wireless headphones.
Before Nintendo added wireless headphone support to Nintendo Switch, players had to content with all sorts of weird solutions especially when playing online matches with voice chat turned on.
According to Nintendo Life, USB audio can now be used when the Nintendo Switch is docked and undocked. As there’s native support for all sorts of wireless headphones, you could even use a PlayStation Wireless Headset with your Nintendo Switch.
If you’re planning to use your wireless headphone while the Nintendo Switch is undocked, you’ll still need a USB to USB-C adapter plugged at the bottom of your Switch to make things work. It’s a small inconvenience, but at least the option is still there.
