46.3% Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Players In Japan Are 20 to 29 Years Old, 80.8% Are Male

Yahoo! has gathered some interesting numbers about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players within Japan.

Namely, the company held a local questionnaire to find out what kinds of people were playing the all-star fighting game. They then sorted their results by age and gender, with the following results:

  • AGE
    • 10 years or younger: 2.1%
    • 10-19 years old: 22.9%
    • 20-29 years old: 46.3%
    • 30 to 39 years old: 16.3%
    • 40-49 years: 6.8%
    • Over 50 years old: 0.5%
    • Unanswered: 5.0%
  • GENDER
    • Male: 80.8%
    • Female: 14.5%
    • Unanswered: 4.7%

While we can’t tell if these statistics represent Japan at large, it seems to imply that men in their twenties make up the majority of Smash players in Japan! One wonders if the player demographics are identical in Europe and America.
