When Super Mario Party first hit the Nintendo Switch, many fans were hopeful that DLC (free or paid) was on its way. While such extra content is still sadly absent, a new datamine reveals that Nintendo might originally have had plans to introduce some!
[UPDATE: the dataminers who found the “SeasonPass” and “DLC1” references have admitted to a mistake, as they realized they looking at files for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The unused board, however, was still a legitimate find in Super Mario Party’s files. We’ve adjusted the article accordingly to reflect this.]
In particular, dataminers have reportedly dug up a never-before-seen board in the game’s files, which resembles some high-rise buildings! You can take a look at it below.
For now, it’s unclear why Nintendo hasn’t released such content to players, or if such plans were scrapped altogether. We’ll report back if we hear anything further about this interesting leak.
