Guide: How To Load Backup Save Data For Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

Following the release of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, many players have reported encountering a number of bugs and glitches throughout the game. Although most are hilarious, others could potentially crash your game or otherwise affect your progress.

As with other games in the series, Pokemon Scarlet And Violet includes a backup save that players can access to recover progress in these types of situations. This save can be accessed by pressing X, B, and UP on the D-Pad on the game’s title screen. This will take players to a menu where they can load the backup save. If the loaded game is not to the player’s liking, they can close the game again without saving to undo the backup save load.

Using this backup save may not always be helpful, as it is unclear how the game selects which previous save to use as a backup. Nevertheless, this feature could be the final resort for players who are stuck, or are otherwise having issues with progressing through the game.
