Pokemon Scarlet And Violet are the first open world games in the series, giving players more freedom to explore and carve their own journey through its three story paths.
That said, although players can choose to tackle the paths in any order they choose, the game still has somewhat of an “intended” sequence based on the levels of each Gym Leader, Titan Pokemon, and Team Star Boss.
For players who wish to experience the story in a linear fashion with progressing levels of challenge, you can find a recommended story order for playing the game below.
For players who wish to challenge all three story paths at once. This list is ordered by level from lowest to highest.
For players who wish to complete the Gym Challenge first. Note that defeating Gyms serves the same purpose as previous games, and it required to ensure traded and caught Pokemon above a certain level will obey you in battle.
For players who wish to complete the Path of Legends first. This path allows players to unlock Ride Forms for Koraidon/Miraidon, as well as potentially capture the powerful Titan Pokemon for their team.
For players who wish to defeat Team Star first. Team Star Bases block of certain parts of the map, and players may need to defeat them to get to where they want to go, unless they can find an alternative route.
