John Cena Might Be Teasing His Role As Stryker In Mortal Kombat 11

Pro-wrestler John Cena might be hitting Mortal Kombat 11 fans with a surprise they never saw coming.

Last week, the WWE star’s likeness received a Mortal Kombat makeover by artist BossLogic. Namely, the illustration depicted Cena as mainstay fighter Stryker – who’s been absent from the playable roster since Mortal Kombat (2011).

This artwork, however, may not have been that one-off after all. Just a few days later, John Cena silently posted a new piece of artwork – which once again depicted him as Stryker! Check it out below.

The superstar wrestler has not commented on the source of this image, which only deepens the mystery of why it exists. Further fueling speculation around John Cena is Mortal Kombat 11 producer Ed Boon’s past comments on how they are creating the game’s character models with real-life faces:

“Our faces, our actors — we find, you know, real people to scan their entire face…It’s not a 3D model, you know sculpting a nose, sculpting a face, stuff like that, it’s actually real people. And we have — I’ll tell you this — we have a huge, huge surprise coming up for a face you’re going to see in Mortal Kombat.”

Could all of these clues be pointing to Stryker’s glorious return to the Mortal Kombat series? Could John Cena be the macho face behind the character? We’ll report back as more news develops around the brutal fighting experience – which launches for Nintendo Switch later this year.
