Newer Amiibo Can Now Be Scanned While Keeping Them In-Box

In-box amiibo collectors can now use the newer figures in-game without having to take them out of the original packaging!

According to a recent tweet from Twitter account @AmiiboNews, since the re-release of the Kirby amiibo, Nintendo has now gotten rid of the foil that prevented users from scanning amiibo while in the box. What this means is that collectors can now keep their newer amiibo sealed in the packaging – thus protecting them from dust and dirt – while still being able to enjoy the in-game benefits they provide from being scanned!

You can check out the tweet alongside an image of an unopened amiibo without the foil below:

This is definitely a welcome move as it allows amiibo owners to enjoy the best of both worlds. Hopefully this is not a one-off practice, and future amiibo releases and re-releases will continue to not have the foil inside the box.
