Following its launch last month, Yuji Naka’s Balan Wonderworld has been met with middling reception and even plagued by an epilepsy-inducing bug. If all of that wasn’t enough, it looks like the game is now facing further flak from players due to part of its whimsical soundtrack as well.
The faux pas in question this time is the main track of Balan Wonderworld‘s Chapter 11, which delves into a firefighter’s struggles. According to several observant folks online, this one song sounds way too similar to another tune from the original Ghostbusters motion picture score – right down to most of its beats.
If you want to compare them for yourself, here are both the Balan Wonderworld Chapter 11 song and Ghostbusters tune below:
More fans soon chimed in and shared their thoughts about the similarities as well. Some even pondered about the legality of this particular Balan Wonderworld song.
What do you think? Is this just a terrible coincidence? Or was the game’s composer feeling too inspired by Ghostbusters’ music score? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
