Random: Legendary Pokemon And Item Duplication Glitches Discovered In Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

Following the release of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, more and more strange bugs and glitches are being discovered in the games, some of which are more useful than others.

These latest glitches we are sharing today involve duplicating items by exploiting certain new features in the game, specifically the Picnic feature and the Ride Pokemon feature.

The first item duplication glitch is relatively simple to pull off, and can be done at any point in the game once you gain access to the picnic feature. This glitch only works on the sparkling items that you find on the overworld, and can be useful for earning money (duping Star Pieces) or gathering EV berries for competitive.

1. Go to the area where the item you wish to duplicate can be found and save your game.
   • For earning money, this can be a Star Piece, which can be found in the Desert Areas.
2. Search for the item without saving your game again, until you have picked it up off the ground.
3. Reload the game to before you picked up the item.
4. Set up your Pokemon party with two Pokemon which can breed with one another. This can be as simple as using a Ditto and any other Pokemon.
5. Go to where the item was, and set up a picnic, ensure that the picnic is set up such that the egg basket is positioned close to where the item is on the ground.
6. Wait for a few minutes or hours to allow Eggs to generate in the egg basket. You can use the Egg Meal Power to speed up this process.
7. After enough time has passed, interact with the item on the ground near the egg basket. You should receive multiple copies of the item you are trying to duplicate.

The second item duplication glitch involves the Legendary Koraidon/Miraidon. It includes some slight spoilers for the game, so only proceed past the Spoiler Warning if you are comfortable being spoiled:

Unlike the picnic glitch, this glitch can only be pulled off after the player has completed the final story arc of the game and unlocked their Koraidon/Miraidon’s Battle Form. This glitch not only allows players to duplicate items, but also duplicate their Legendary Pokemon.

Please be warned that using or trading the duped Legendaries online may result in being banned, so only execute this glitch if you are comfortable with the potential consequences.

1. Press “X” and select the Options menu
2. Switch “Send To Boxes” to “Manual”
3. Return to the pause menu, and switch your Koraidon/Miraidon from Ride Form to Battle Form
4. Open your bag and select the item you wish to duplicate, and give it to your Koraidon/Miraidon while it is in Battle Form. This can be any expensive or rare item, such as the Ability Patch.
5. Return to the overworld, and press “+” to switch your Koraidon/Miraidon back to Ride Form.
6. Open the pause menu again, and switch your Koraidon/Miraidon from Ride Form to Battle Form again.
7. Make sure you have a full party of 6 Pokemon, and capture a random wild Pokemon.
8. Select “Add to Your Party” when prompted.
9. At this point, select your Koraidon/Miraidon as your replacement Pokemon by pressing A but almost immediately press B right afterward. The timing of this step is critical.
   • Execute this step too slowly, and the game will deny your attempt to send Koraidon/Miraidon to the box.
   • Execute this step too quickly, and your wild Pokemon will be sent to your box instead.
10. If you did Step 9 correctly, you will be asked if you wish to send Koraidon/Miraidon’s item to your bag. Select “Place item into your bag”.
11. You will have now succesfully duplicated your item, as well as your Koraidon/Miraidon.
    • The duplicate item will be in your bag, as well as attached to the Koraidon/Miraidon in your party.
    • The duplicate Koraidon/Miraidon will be in your boxes.

As these exploits are quite powerful, its likely that Game Freak will patch them out eventually. So be sure to take advantage of them while you can.
