Rumor: Sonic Frontiers Leak From 2019 Possibly Hints At Super Mario Odyssey 2

Prior to the official reveal of Sonic Frontiers, the project itself had been rumored about for quite some time.

Following the reveal, a specific leak from 2019 has been brought into the spotlight by Twitter use @Matthasnocuts. This leak was first posted on 4chan, where the anonymous poster claimed to have run online surveys about several videogame project ideas, including one for a new Sonic game.

The leak namedrops “Starfall Islands” which Polygon previously reported to be the setting of Sonic Frontiers, and also includes screenshots of a description that’s eerily similar to the plot synopsis, adding a sense of legitimacy to the rumor.

However, what makes this leak even more interesting is that a concept for Super Mario Odyssey 2 was also included in the poster’s survey. According to the description shared by the poster, this concept included Luigi as a playable character with his own version of “Cappy”, a set of 20 locations, additional characters such as Yoshi, and more.
