The Legend of Zelda Movie Will Come To Netflix After Theatrical Release

Sony and Netflix have confirmed a deal where the The Legend Of Zelda live-action movie will be released on Netflix’s streaming platform.

As reported by Famitsu, the deal will include not only Legend Of Zelda, but a number of Sony Pictures’ other films such as Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, The Nightingale and the Beatles movies. Release on Netflix will follow after the movies have been released in theaters as well as after they have been made available for physical and digital purchase.

Representatives for both companies has this to say about the deal:

Sony’s impressive slate of iconic film franchises like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and originals like Anyone But You have been popular with our U.S. audience and now we’re excited to expand that offering to our members all around the world.”

Paul Littmann, EVP of Global Distribution, Sony Pictures Television:

This new Pay-1 deal takes that partnership to the next level and reinforces the enduring appeal of our theatrical releases to Netflix’s global audience.
