License Global has published their yearly analysis on the top global licenses, revealing that the Pokemon brand has once again made it to the Top 10.
According to their data, The Pokemon Company International made $10.8 Billion in revenue from selling Pokemon licensed products. This includes games, toys, apparel and accessories, designer collaborations, home décor, publishing and more. This places them as the 7th most profitable brand of 2023, among giants such as the Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. This is a $800 million drop in revenue compared to 2022, but that amount was likely boosted due to the launch of Pokemon Scarlet And Violet.
Even so, Pokemon’s license as a whole has reportedly amassed over $91.6 Billion in lifetime revenue, which is now reportedly the highest ever for a media franchise. All in all, it seems Pokemon shows no signs of slowing down as a franchise, and will likely continue to thrive for years to come.
